Chance the Rapper postpones tour to 2020 to raise his daughters: 'I need to be as available as possible'

Chance the Rapper is prioritizing his family over his music.

On Monday, the Chicago lyricist took to Instagram to announce he'll be postponing his previously scheduled tour in support of his latest album, "The Big Day," until 2020.

He wants to spend time with his kids, including his newborn daughter, Marli.

"This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc. But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family and work," the father of two shared in a lengthy caption, which accompanied a photo of himself and his daughters.

Chance went on to explain that when his first child, Kensli Bennett, was born, he hit the road two weeks later and "missed some of the most important milestones in her life."

"At this point as a husband and father of two I realize that I can’t make that mistake again," the "No Problem" rapper continued. "I need to be as helpful and available as possible to my wife in these early months of raising Kensli and Marli."

He added, "I apologize because I know how many people were counting on seeing me soon, but I hope you’ll understand and forgive me in time."

Chance, whose given name is Chancelor Bennett, wed his longtime partner, Kirsten Corley, in March. Last week, she announced the birth of their second daughter. The couple's eldest child is 4 years old.

Chance assured fans that the tour would resume on Jan. 15, 2020, and fans who'd already purchased tickets could get refunds via his personal website.

But you can still see Chance in 2019 at a few select dates: the Life Is Beautiful Festival on Sept. 20 in Las Vegas; the iHeart Music Fest, also in Vegas, on Sept . 21; at the United Center in Chicago on Sept. 28; and the Miami Beach Pop Festival on Nov. 10.
