Talk about meta: "The Crown" star Olivia Colman met Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

Colman, who will replace Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth for season three, was presented with a CBE for her work in drama by the queen's daughter.

The actress, who received the award under her given name, Sarah Sinclair, did not speak to reporters at the ceremony.

Colman, 45, won an Oscar earlier this year for her work on the film, "The Favourite."

"The Crown" returns to Netflix on Nov. 17 with an entirely different cast.

In addition to Colman, Helena Bonham Carter will play Princess Margaret, Tobias Menzies will play Prince Philip and Josh O'Connor will play Prince Charles. Despite a report to the contrary, casting director Nina Gold told Vanity Fair that Princess Diana will not appear in this season.
