Dolly Parton celebrates her milestone 80th birthday and releases new music
Dolly Parton is ringing in her milestone 80th birthday.
The country music icon celebrated the achievement with a post on social media on Monday after dropping a new rendition of a song for her fans on Friday.
The "9 to 5" singer posted a collection of photos to Instagram wearing a colorful outfit, standing next to a cake with a butterfly design on it made out of flowers, with an "80" in the corner.
In the final photo of the collection, Parton is attempting to extinguish the "80" digit candles on the cake, which are engulfed in a large flame, while she holds a fire extinguisher.
Some famous faces across entertainment posted in the comment section wishing well to the 10-time Grammy winner.
"Happy Birthday Dolly!!! 🦋🌸🍄," wrote Olivia Munn.
Billy Ray Cyrus added, "Happy Birthday Dolly! You're a reminder of what music is supposed to do... bring people together, lift spirits, and tell the truth with heart. As Miley’s godmother and a guiding light in our lives, your influence goes far beyond the charts... it lives in the lives she’s touched and the generations of fans she’s inspired."
The Friday before her birthday, the country music legend released a new rendition of her song "Light of a Clear Blue Morning" with famous features.
"In celebration of her milestone 80th birthday on January 19, 2026, global superstar Dolly Parton just released a powerful new rendition of her classic hit, “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” featuring Lainey Wilson, Miley Cyrus, Queen Latifah and Reba McEntire on the 50th anniversary of writing the song," read Parton's website.
The site noted that net proceeds from the recording and music video, "Benefit Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt."
