Dolly Parton has canceled her upcoming Las Vegas residency, opening up about her ongoing health issues in a video on social media.

In an Instagram post Monday, Parton said she is responding well to medication and treatment, but she's not quite ready to return to the stage.

Parton previously postponed her Las Vegas residency -- originally set for December last year -- in September 2025, citing "health challenges." The residency, rescheduled for September this year, is now marked as canceled on various ticketing websites.

On Monday, the singer-songwriter shared a health update on social media, detailing issues with her immune and digestive system.

"The good news is I'm responding really well to meds and treatments, and I'm improving every day," Parton said in an Instagram video. "The bad news is it's going to take me a little while before I'm up to stage performance level, because some of the meds and treatments make me a little bit swimmy headed."

Parton struck a humorous tone throughout the video, likening her health to an old classic car that needed some restoration.

"I've told you before that I've always had problems with my kidney stones. Lord, they dig more stones out of me a year than the rock quarry in Rockwood, Tennessee," Parton said.

She continued, "My immune system and my digestive system got all out of whack over the past couple, three years, and they're working real hard on rebuilding [and] strengthening those, and hopefully I'll be up to snuff again soon."

"I know I'm being silly, but I'm just trying to keep everything light and airy," Parton added. "They say that a happy heart is like good medicine."

Parton said she is still keeping busy, recording videos, working to open her museum and hotel, and working on her Broadway musical.

"I know you're thinking, 'Lord, sick or well, that girl's always promoting something. Well, that's true, but that's how you get it done," Parton said.

She apologized for missing fans at her now-canceled Las Vegas residency and thanked fans for the outpouring of support she received after her husband Carl Dean died at age 82 last year.

"From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. You have been a big part of my healing," she said.

ABC News has reached out to Parton's representative for comment.

Following Parton's initial announcement postponing her Las Vegas residency last year, she shared a video in October reassuring concerned fans that she was doing "OK."

"I ain't dead yet!" she captioned the video, where she spoke to fans directly.

"I wanted to put everybody’s mind at ease, those of you that seem to be real concerned, which I appreciate," she said in the October video, adding that during her late husband's illness, she "let a lot of things go that I should have been taking care of" health-wise.
