Although he announced their engagement on Instagram in January 2018, Ed Sheeran has managed to keep his marriage to wife Cherry Seaborn secret for months. Now he's revealing details about their ultra-private ceremony.

Appearing on the "Table Manners with Jessie Ware" podcast, Sheeran said of their big day, "Our actual wedding was a tiny, tiny event with basically no one there."

"We did it at night on a random day in the middle of January in the middle of nowhere," he added. "No one knew, no one came to it. We lit candles, we got married, we went back [and] had a curry."

It wasn't until a few months later that Sheeran said the couple threw a huge party as a "celebration of us and our friends," which he said they're less "less private" about. Sheeran said he "didn’t want pictures getting out" and that he was actually "amazed they didn't."

"Everyone was very present," he said of the occasion.

Ware, who was invited to the party, then revealed at least two of the celebs who attended the bash: Sam Smith and Stella McCartney.

Sheeran also spoke about the "intrusiveness" of the paparazzi on his life, particularly with his baby daughter Lyra, who was born last August. He said the first time it happened was when she was 4 weeks old.

"I find it a very strange thing, just the concept of a man taking who you don't know taking a picture of your infant kid," he said.

"It's fair game when it's me, I've signed up for it, and, to a degree, Cherry signed up for it. She married into this life," he added. "But I just find it weird with kids."
