Ellie Goulding welcomes 1st child with husband Caspar Jopling

Two months after announcing her pregnancy to the world, Ellie Goulding and her husband, Caspar Jopling, have welcomed their first child.

“Mum and baby both happy and healthy,” Jopling wrote in a now-expired Instagram Story. “Extremely grateful."

"I don't ever address the public attention that comes with Ellie's job, but during this magical and personal moment we would really appreciate being able to enjoy our privacy," he added.

Jopling also shared a photo to Instagram Stories showing a Google search for "world population 2021" and the result being edited to add one more to the total.

Details such as the name and sex of the couple's baby have not been revealed.

"That was not the plan," Goulding told Vogue in February about finding out she was pregnant on her first wedding anniversary. "The thought of getting pregnant didn’t seem like it could be a reality."

"Becoming pregnant kind of made me feel human," she continued. "I want a better word than 'womanly,' [but] -- I have curves I’ve never had before. I’m enjoying it. My husband’s enjoying it."

Goulding, 34, and Jopling, 29, tied the knot in August 2019.
