Mia Sara is back on the big screen.

The actress, best known for her roles in 1985's "Legend" and the 1986 classic "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," made a rare red carpet appearance Monday at the Los Angeles premiere of "The Life of Chuck," marking her first film role in 14 years.

At the event, Sara, who last appeared on the big screen in 2011's "Dorothy and the Witches of Oz," posed alongside director Mike Flanagan and co-stars Tom Hiddleston, Benjamin Pajak, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mark Hamill, Kate Siegel, Karen Gillan, Carl Lumbly and Annalise Basso, among others.

In "The Life of Chuck," Sara plays Sarah Krantz, the grandmother to Hiddleston's character, Charles "Chuck" Krantz. The film follows Charles' life story in reverse-chronological order.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Sara admitted returning to the spotlight felt "a little daunting," adding, "But I'm very grateful! It's unexpected."

She told People she was inspired to come out of retirement specifically to work with Flanagan.

"We've been such fans, and we met socially, he and the magnificent Kate Siegel, and he just said, 'Well, don't you ever really want to work again?'" Sara shared. "And I said, 'Oh, I don't know.' He said, 'Well, what if I offered you something?' I said, 'Well, okay, if you offer me something, I'll do it.'"

As for life off-screen, Sara revealed that she now lives in a 17th-century farmhouse in England with her husband Brian Henson, the son of puppeteer and Muppets creator Jim Henson. Her life routine includes riding horses, reading crime novels and cooking, she said.

When asked if more roles are in her future, Sara kept it simple, telling People, "Honestly, it really was all about Mike. If Mike needs me, I'll be there."

"The Life of Chuck" opens in select theaters June 6 and nationwide on June 13.
