Inside Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's Whirlwind Romance

Though reports about the couple have circulated for some time, the actress confirmed over the weekend that they're getting married.
"He's so beautiful inside and out!" she told Us Weekly magazine. "He's quite possibly the most amazing man that's ever walked the planet, it's crazy. I'm so lucky, I love him."
If photos are any indication, her Somderhalder feels the same way. Perhaps that's how they went from first dates to fiancé(e)s in just a matter of months. Below is a quick primer to their whirlwind romance.
July, 2014: Last summer, photos emerged of Reed, 26, and Somerhalder, 36, spending a low-key weekend together, going for a run and snuggling at a farmer's market. However, the only thing that anyone could confirm at the time was that they were, in fact, dating.
Early August, 2014:: Just a few days after stepping out together, Reed and Somerhalder adopted a horse together. "Proud new dad," Somerhalder wrote on an Instagram photo of himself with the "amazing creature." "His name is Eagle. Thank you @iamnikkireed for snapping this special moment, with our big baby boy."
Late August, 2014: Us Weekly that after less than a month of dating, Somerhalder and Reed had moved in together while he shot "The Vampire Diaries" in Atlanta.
October, 2014: The two continued to bond over their love of animals, posing with dogs and horses. "@iamnikkireed your recent work with Gilt benefiting the @aspca is truly truky [sic] extraordinary," he gushed on Instagram. "Thank you for giving so much of your life and for being a strong voice for those whom can speak. My hat is off to you. You amaze me."
November, 2014: The two grew their family even more, with the addition of a cat, Sohalia. "Thank you @iamnikkireed for finding us this amazing kid in Conyers Georgia," Somerhalder wrote on Instagram. "Unfortunately this little kid was wildly mislabeled as "feral/not friendly", and had Nikki not gone in and opened her cage regardless, we would have never found out that she is the most loving kitty on the planet and she may have been put down." They also came close to adopting another dog, but lamented that they're out of room.
December, 2014: The two spent the holidays skiing in Sun Valley and hanging out with their pets. "We're ready to kick major ass and make a great future staritng [sic] now," he wrote.
January, 2015: Six months after they were first linked, Reed confirmed her engagement to Somerhalder.
