Since actor Luke Perry's death last week, former co-stars, friends and loved ones have posted tributes commenting on the great loss.

Perry died at 52 after a massive stroke in Los Angeles, California, on March 4, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.

The actor, known for his roles in "Riverdale" and "90210," left a lasting effect on his loved ones and peers. However, not all of his close friends and acquaintances wanted to issue a public statement about the tragedy.

Actress Jennie Garth, who starred with Perry on "Beverly Hills, 90210," hit back at trolls who criticized her for not posting a tribute to the late star on Instagram.

Many left comments on her photo of her daughters -- that she shared celebrating International Women's Day on Friday -- asking why she hadn't posted about Perry, and even condemning her for it.

Garth then made a comment of her own on the post to address the criticism.

"Hey everyone … I chose to post a pic of my girls today. Because they are my life. Because today is a day to celebrate all women," she wrote. "It took a lot for me to want to celebrate anything. I thought about it and I know that's the way my dear friend would have wanted it."

"His kids were his life. And anyone who knew him knows that and knows he didn’t give a f--- about social media. So please don't assume or judge or make rude comments. That's really uncool. Sincerely, Jennie," she wrote.

Although Garth chose to grieve privately, some of Perry's other "90210" co-stars commented on Perry's death on their public social platforms.

Actor Jason Priestley, who played Brandon Walsh on the hit show, shared an emotional tribute.

"My dear friend of 29 years, Luke Perry, was one of those truly special people who really cared," he wrote alongside two photos of the pair. "Luke was not only a star, he was an incredibly bright light that was extinguished far too soon... and that is why I, and so many others, are in so much pain today."

"If you had the good fortune to know Luke, or to have ever crossed his path, I know you are sad today as well," he added. "The candle that burns twice as bright only burns for half as long... you burned oh, so brightly Luke... Goodnight Sweet Prince."

Another former "90210" co-star, Shannen Doherty, who played Perry's love interest, Brenda Walsh, on the show, also shared a touching post.

"I'm struggling with this loss and am having a hard time with my thoughts," she wrote. "But, my heart goes out to his family and friends who were blessed by his light in their (and mine) lives."
