"It breaks my heart being that I can’t hand you a physical birthday card today. That I can’t hear your laugh, or tell you all the things I wish I’d said a thousand more times," Cassidy wrote.

Her post included a series of personal photos from their two years together. "In your 31 years here on this earth you brought so much joy, happiness and hope to so many — especially to me," she wrote.

"August 29th will be a date that sits in my heart for the rest of my life," she concluded the post.

Payne died at age 31 on Oct. 16 after falling from the third floor of his hotel room in Argentina, according to local police. His body was discovered in the inner courtyard of the property, where he was pronounced dead.

In the days following his sudden passing, Cassidy shared her grief publicly.

"Thank you for all of the kind words and love that has been sent my way,” she wrote in an Instagram story. "I have been at a complete loss. Nothing about the past few days have felt real. I ask and pray that you’ll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private."

She added a message directly to Payne: "Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely."
