Kate Upton Is Engaged to MLB Pitcher Justin Verlander
— -- Kate Upton accessorized her Met Gala gown last night with a very important piece of jewelry: her new engagement ring.
The model revealed to E News! that she is set to wed her longtime boyfriend, Major League Baseball player Justin Verlander.
The wedding date has not been set, she said.
"I'm really excited, he asked me right before season started so we've been keeping it on the down low for quite a while," she told E! News. "So I'm excited to finally be able to share it with the world!"
Upton, 23, and Verlander, 33, first met in 2012. Last year, the Detroit Tigers pitcher told Forbes that his relationship with Upton was more "normal" than some may imagine.
"Kate’s there a lot for me," he told Forbes. "And we’re just normal people. You know, normal relationship -- believe it or not."
