Dax Shepard just reached a major milestone, and Kristen Bell is making sure the moment doesn’t go unnoticed.

The "Frozen" actress shared a tribute on Instagram this week to celebrate her husband’s 21 years of sobriety.

Bell shared intimate family photos of Shepard alongside their daughters, Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10. One image also showed Bell and Shepard sharing a kiss.

Bell, 45, praised her husband’s commitment to recovery, writing that "This is what 21 years of sobriety looks like," and that for Shepard it has meant "Lots of hugging. Hugging everyone and everything. Hugging life." She concluded by writing, "I am eternally grateful to have you. We all are 💕."

Shepard, 50, responded in the comments with his signature humor: “Well this is a low blow. Even for you. Makin’ a guy cry when he can’t turn to booze?!?!”

The post drew quick reactions from celebrity friends and fans alike. Nina Dobrev offered a string of praise emojis, Rachel Bilson sent heart emojis and Cheyenne Jackson added an emphatic "Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes."

Shepard has long been candid about his struggles with addiction. In 2020, he revealed that he had suffered a relapse after 16 years of sobriety, and later explained on Chelsea Clinton’s "In Fact" podcast how he addresses the subject with his daughters.

Shepard said he tells Lincoln and Delta openly that he attends AA meetings twice a week because, as he put it, "I’m an alcoholic, and if I don’t go there, then I’ll drink and then I’ll be a terrible dad."
