Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney Are 'Taking a Break'

— -- Amid reports that they'd ended their engagement, Lady Gaga shared on Instagram that she and her fiancé, Taylor Kinney, "have been taking a break."

The couple has been together for five years, and Kinney proposed last year on Valentine's Day with a massive heart-shaped diamond.

"Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break," she wrote. "We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other."

This past winter, the singer, 30, and the "Chicago Fire" actor, 35, looked every bit the happy couple at the Golden Globes and the Oscars. However, they haven’t been seen out publicly together in recent weeks and Gaga is said to have been spotted without her engagement ring last week in Malibu.

Back in 2013, Gaga, whose real name is Stephani Germanotta, gushed about her beau on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

"At the end of the day he's my best friend and having your lover be your best friend is, I mean, it's the best thing ever," she said.
