Princess Eugenie, the younger daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, has revealed her newborn son's name and shared a photo of the ninth great-grandchild for Queen Elizabeth.

Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have named their week-old son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.⁣"Thank you for so many wonderful messages," Eugenie shared on Instagram, alongside a photo taken by her midwife. "Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can't express."

"We are excited to be able to share these photos with you," she wrote. "Thank you to the wonderful essential workers including our midwife who came to discharge our boy."

Eugenie, 30, delivered her son at Portland Hospital in London, the same hospital where she was born.

Brooksbank, was present for the birth of August, who weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce at birth, according to Buckingham Palace.

Shortly after August was born, Eugenie shared a photo on Instagram of her newborn son's hand alongside a caption of blue heart emojis.

He is the first grandchild for Sarah and Prince Andrew, who stepped back from his royal public duties in 2019 due to heavy criticism over his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died in prison from an apparent suicide.

Sarah tweeted about her new grandson, writing, "As Grandparents, The Duke and I are thrilled and blessed at the arrival of our grandson August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. He is a beautiful blessing and a bringer of such love and joy to all our Family. I am so proud of Jack and Eugenie, they are and will be wonderful parents."

The baby is the ninth great-grandchild for Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth, who have four children and eight grandchildren.

Eugenie's cousin, Zara Tindall, and Duchess Meghan, the wife of Eugenie's cousin Prince Harry, are also pregnant. Their children will become the tenth and eleventh great-grandchildren for the queen and Philip.

Eugenie and Brooksbank wed at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in 2018.

Their son August counts Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's son, Archie, and Prince William and Duchess Kate's children, George, Charlotte and Louis, among his second cousins.

Eugenie's sister, Princess Beatrice, wed Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who has a school-age son, last year in a small, private ceremony amid the coronavirus pandemic.
