Rebel Wilson has announced her feature directorial debut.
The "Pitch Perfect" actress revealed at the Cannes Film Festival Wednesday that she'll be directing an upcoming musical comedy, called "The Deb."
Sharing more about the upcoming project on Instagram, Wilson wrote, "The movie is called The Deb and it's an original Australian musical about a teen girl going to her debutante ball in a country town."
"I can't wait to film this later this year in Australia 🇦🇺 and share it with you all!" she continued.
She also shared a photo of herself with the film's stars, Natalie Abbott, Stevie Jean and Charlotte MacInnes, writing alongside it, "Look out for these Aussie ladies who are about to CRUSH IT!!"
Speaking to Variety at the event announcing the project, Wilson shared, "My skill set has always been musical comedy. From my first productions as a playwright, they were all little musical comedies where I wrote the music for those ones back in the day."
"It's just so my genre that I thought, out of the other movies that I was offered, this one is a thing [I'm familiar with]."
