Snoop Dogg shares emotional tributes to announce his mother's death

Snoop Dogg announced the death of his mother, Beverly Tate, on Sunday.

The rapper posted a series of tributes for Tate, in which he reflected on her impact on his life.

"Mama thank u for having me," Snoop commented with an Instagram photo of the two of them. In a separate post, he added, “Thank u god for giving me an angel for a mother.”

Numerous stars, including Taraji P. Henson, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Larenz Tate, Mike Epps, Bow Wow, Chuck D, E40, and Big Boi from Outkast, sent prayers to the iconic rapper.

Cardi B wrote, "Sorry Uncle Snoop. Love and peace to your family." Dwayne Johnson commented. “I’m so sorry. All our Johnson love and mana sent you and your family’s way.”

Snoop's father, Vernell Varnado, also confirmed Tate's death, writing on Instagram, "Snoop's mom has passed today. Can all my fans pray for our family. We need it more than ever. Thanxs."

In another tribute, the rapper wrote, "U taught me how to read and write how to struggle and fight and all l the facts of life 💝🕊💖🙏🏽🌹 now you finally got ya wings mama🌹😘. Godspeed 🕊"

The rapper also shared a video from his Boston show on Sunday, in which he played Ben E. King's "Stand by Me” for his mother and asked the crowd to sing along.
