— -- After a Twitter back-and-forth between Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj about the MTV VMAs earlier this week, Swift apologized Thursday via Twitter and Minaj accepted.

"I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I'm sorry, Nicki.@NICKIMINAJ," the pop star wrote to the rapper.

Minaj came right back and happily accepted the apology.

"That means so much Taylor, thank you," she wrote. "I've always loved her. Everyone makes mistakes. She gained so much more respect from me. Let's move on."

Swift was apologizing for responding to a tweet Minaj posted about Minaj's video "Anaconda" not being nominated for Video of the Year.

"If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year," Minaj tweeted on Tuesday.

Swift responded to that tweet with, "I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.."

The singer admitted today she thought Minaj's tweet was addressed toward her, being that she was nominated in the coveted top VMAs category.

But Minaj tweeted Tuesday night that Swift was mistaken.

"Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this," Minaj said, adding, "I'm still confused as to why u just tweeted me when I made it abundantly clear..."
