Travis Kelce speaks out about engagement to Taylor Swift
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is opening up about his engagement to pop superstar Taylor Swift.
"I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something and all the posts and all the excitement that's been going on. It's been really fun telling everybody who I'm going to be spending the rest of my life with," Kelce said in a new episode of his "New Heights" podcast, which he co-hosts with his older brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce.
"There's something different about calling somebody your fiancee ... there's something way more official to it," Jason Kelce said.
Travis Kelce agreed.
"I felt that, at the game, actually, it was the first time introducing Taylor as my fiancee to a few of my teammates, so yeah, it was pretty cool," he said, referring to his and Swift's first post-engagement outing, a matchup between the Cincinnati Bearcats and the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Aug. 28 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
"Don't you get giddy saying ['my fiancee']?" Jason Kelce asked.
"I did, yeah, I still get giddy. Exciting times," Travis Kelce replied.
Jason Kelce then asked his brother whether he had any engagement advice for their podcast listeners.
"Man, you gotta know your gal. You gotta know your significant other," Travis Kelce said. "You can't let how somebody else does it make you feel like you have to do it that way."
Travis Kelce also said that the couple's wedding planning is "gonna go crazy," but claimed he hadn't thought about his bachelor party "for one second."
Travis Kelce asked Swift to marry him in August, proposing with an old-mine brilliant cut diamond ring that he designed with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry in New York City.
The couple shared their engagement news in a joint Instagram photo post on Aug. 26, writing in the accompanying caption, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨."
The announcement has since broken Instagram records, racking up over 30 million likes in 24 hours.
Kelce and Swift first sparked speculation about their relationship back in the fall of 2023, when Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game alongside the Kelce brothers' mom, Donna Kelce.
Since then, the two have supported each other publicly, with Kelce making a surprise appearance at Swift's Eras Tour concert in London and Swift cheering Kelce on at the 2025 Super Bowl.
The couple went "official" with their romance on Instagram in a joint post in July, with Kelce sharing photos of him and Swift together during the NFL offseason.
