Zach Braff, Donald Faison bring back Sacred Heart nostalgia at 'Scrubs' red carpet

Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke and more stepped out Monday night in Los Angeles for the red carpet and screening for "Scrubs," a revival of the hit 2000s medical comedy.
The event was packed with nostalgia as the stars reunited with each other and greeted fans, bringing everyone back to Sacred Heart Hospital -- the fictional hospital where the series takes place -- for one night.
Ahead of the screening, Braff addressed fans in attendance and shouted out everyone involved in bringing the revival to life.
"There are so many people that work on 'Scrubs,'" Braff said. "Between building a full scale replica of the old hospital we used to shoot in and filling it with all the background and cast and crew -- we calculated that in these nine episodes, 3,723 people worked on this season of 'Scrubs.'"
The "Scrubs" star then turned to the cast and shared how fun it's been for the OG team to come together again.
"We truly love each other so much," Braff said.
The revival will see the return of J.D. Dorian (Braff) and Christopher Turk (Faison), who "scrub in together for the first time in a long time."
"Medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time," according to a show teaser. "Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way."
"Scrubs," which originally aired for nine seasons from 2001 to 2010, followed the medical staff at Sacred Heart Hospital, including interns, doctors and other employees, from the point of view of Braff's character.
The revival will also welcome back original cast members Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley, who will guest star as Carla and Dr. Perry Cox.
Also in attendance at the screening were cast members Michael James Scott, Vanessa Bayer, Joel Kim Booster, Phill Lewis, X Mayo, Amanda Morrow and Layla Mohammadi.
In 2024, it was announced that a continuation of "Scrubs" was being developed by show creator Bill Lawrence for ABC and 20th Television.
Lawrence was not able to attend the premiere, but Braff shared a few words for the "Scrubs" creator.
"He not only created this show and changed all of our lives, but he continues to be our biggest champion," Braff said. "For me in particular, there's no one else I've ever met who has been more of a cheerleader for me as a creative person."
Braff said, "'Scrubs' is magical because of the mind of Bill Lawrence."
The first two episodes of the "Scrubs" revival will air on ABC on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 8 p.m. ET. After launch night, new half-hour episodes will arrive weekly.
Each episode will air live on ABC and will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
