How Zelda Williams is honoring her dad Robin Williams on what would've been his 69th birthday
Zelda Williams is giving back to honor her late father, actor Robin Williams, on what would have been his 69th birthday.
The actor's daughter tweeted Tuesday she would be donating $69.69 to "as many local homeless shelters as I can" to mark the occasion.
She later shared that she'd given money to the Los Angeles LGBT Center, the Union Rescue Mission, PATH and The Midnight Mission in Los Angeles.
She also supported organizations in her hometown of San Francisco such as the San Francisco LGBT Center and GLIDE.
"Join me if you like, but regardless, know I am wishing you all at least one hearty, immature belly laugh on Dad today," she added.
Robin Williams was 63 years old when he died by suicide in 2014. Since then, Zelda Williams has occasionally shared stories about her father on social media, posting old photos of him in March and in 2018 reflecting on her loss ahead of the actor's 67th birthday.
"Everyone who has dealt with loss knows the pain of certain anniversaries, moments full of memory that come round like clockwork and usurp all others, no matter how hard you may try to prepare for or avoid them," she wrote at the time. "These weeks are the hardest for me, and thus, you’ll see me a lot less, if at all."
