Local reporter surprised by mom in the field reacts to viral moment

Myles Harris got an unscripted surprise from his mom while working in the field and the hilarious caught-on-camera moment has become a viral hit.

The Columbus, Ohio-based reporter for ABC News affiliate WSYX joined “Good Morning America” Thursday after the clip took social media by storm.

“Per my mom, this was a coincidence. She was going out to run an errand and saw our marked car -- and next thing you know the video tells the rest,” he recapped.

“No way,” Harris exclaimed with a laugh during the live surprise. “Oh my gosh, this is awesome.”

But Harris' mom Sandi didn't stop at the standup shot in Ohio. She also surprised her son virtually during his big national television debut on Thursday.

“He’s my biggest accomplishment I am very, very proud,” his mom told “GMA.”
