Love Gwaltney had a gender reveal -- but it wasn't for a baby she is currently expecting.

It was for her 17-year-old son, Grey.

"We wanted to announce that we got it wrong 17 years ago when we told the world we were having a little girl and named that child McKenzie," Love Gwaltney wrote on Facebook. "So, we'd like to introduce you to our SON: Grey. He's much like any other 17 year old nerdy boy, stays up way to late gaming, hates showering, and eats too much junk food. We will be referring to Grey with he/him pronouns from here on out, but he told us to tell you that he also doesn't mind if you use they/them."

Gwaltney told "Good Morning America" people have "reached out personally to share their stories of coming out, or their transition and how their families handled it."

Her Facebook post has been shared more than 50,000 times.

The colors of the balloons used were not pink nor blue; instead they matched the Nonbinary pride flag.

The photos were taken by Sarah McBride of Sarah McBride Photography in Akron, Ohio, on July 11. She told "Good Morning America" she was most surprised by "the outpour[ing] of love from all over the world."

McBride said Grey had "a beam of joy" during the session.

"You can tell that people are so happy to see others happy with themselves," she said.
