3 dead after small plane crash in Michigan

Three people are dead after a small plane crashed in Bath Township, Michigan, on Thursday evening, city officials said.

The crash took place at approximately 5 p.m. when the Bath Township Fire Department and Police Department responded to a reported small aircraft crash near the intersection of Clark Road and Peacock Road, according to a statement from Bath Charter Township on Thursday night.

“Three passengers were confirmed as being aboard the aircraft. All three passengers have been found and confirmed as deceased,” city officials said.

It is unclear at this time what caused the aircraft to crash or what the intended destination of the aircraft was, but authorities confirmed that the Federal Aviation Administration is on the scene of the crash and investigating the incident.

In addition to the Bath Township Fire and Police Departments responding to the incident, mutual aid partners have also been on scene to assist, according to officials.
