— -- One New Jersey homeowner was able to jump into action early Tuesday morning after two burglars entered her home in Upper Pittsgrove Township in Salem County. In a video posted by New Jersey State Police, one can see the dogs in the house barking just before two men smashed open the front door and began ransacking the space.

In the video, the burglars spend about two minutes looking around. Then suddenly, they stop, look at the camera, and quickly flee on foot. What stopped them? Home surveillance.

Officials are calling it a “'Home Alone' fiasco.” The burglary began around 9:18 a.m. on Tuesday, when the homeowner was out of the house, police said. Fortunately, the home was equipped with a security camera which was able to alert the owner to the invasion. The homeowner was then able to remotely access the surveillance and tell the intruders to leave, in no short terms.

The two men were able to get away with a lockbox containing jewelry and personal documents, according to state police. Anyone with information is asked to contact the detectives at the Woodstown Station at 856-769-0775 or the Woodstown Criminal Investigations Office at 856-769-0779.
