— -- New York City police and local officials are gathering at a Queens church tonight to address the investigation into the mysterious slaying of jogger Karina Vetrano.

Vetrano, 30, was strangled to death Tuesday while jogging along the Howard Beach path she often ran with her father. But her father, a retired firefighter, was having back pain that day and didn't accompany her on the evening jog.

Police have not made any arrests. A $10,000 reward has been offered.

Vetrano's father was with police when his daughter was found unresponsive in the Queens marshland Aug. 2, a police source said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said there was also evidence Vetrano many have been sexually assaulted, according to ABC New York City station WABC-TV.

A funeral was held Saturday. The next day, at a news conference, Vetrano's parents vowed that justice will be served.

City, state and congressional lawmakers, as well as the NYPD and the Queens District Attorney's Office, are among those expected to attend tonight's 7 p.m. public meeting at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Howard Beach.
