Two men face felony robbery charges after allegedly assaulting and robbing a man in downtown Nashville while wearing a gorilla suit and a Hawaiian shirt, according to authorities and an arrest affidavit obtained by ABC News.

Xavier Rhodes, 18, and Sherrod Robinson, 22, were arrested after allegedly attacking a man near Nashville's popular downtown entertainment district around 4:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, authorities said.

The victim, identified as Eli Jordan Walker, told police that Rhodes, who was wearing a gorilla suit, put him in a headlock while Robinson, dressed in a Hawaiian shirt, allegedly repeatedly kicked and punched him before stealing his shoes.

Police said they spotted the suspects crossing the Shelby Street pedestrian bridge shortly after the incident, with one still wearing the gorilla suit and Hawaiian shirt.

When police spoke with the duo, Robinson admitted to fighting with the victim but allegedly denied taking Walker's shoes, court documents show.
