— -- It's almost like that scene from "Snakes on a Plane."

Animal services workers in San Diego were called to Vertical PR + Marketing on Tuesday after a 5-foot, 6-inch Colombian rainbow boa was found slithering inside a toilet.

"I thought my eyes were deceiving me," Stephanie Lacsa told ABC News affiliate KGTV. "But as soon as I saw the flicker of its tongue, I definitely knew that it was, in fact, a large snake heading straight towards me."

Lacsa had tried plunging the toilet when she noticed its unusually high water level, only for the snake to slither out.

"I ran out of the bathroom screaming louder than I'd like to admit and taped the door shut," she said.

San Diego Animal Services workers captured the boa and took it to a veterinarian. The snake was shedding its skin and slightly underweight, said Animal Services Deputy Director Dan DeSousa.

The snake, which is nonvenomous, will be sent to a reptile group if no owner comes froward to claim it by Friday.

"The snake scared the living daylights out of us, but we truly hope he gets the care he needs and can be placed in a good home,' said Holly Wells, who also works at the company. "I also hope that the new owners of that home know how to keep their toilet seat lids down."
