Kate Middleton's Hometown Plans Wedding Blowouts

ByHelen Zhang
March 04, 2011, 4:00 PM

March 4, 2011— -- The owner of Kate Middleton's favorite local pub received an invitation to her wedding to Prince William, but that doesn't mean the rest of her hometown won't be celebrating the special day as well.

Wynne Frankum, the chairman of Kate's hometown Bucklebury Parish told the Daily Mail that the village "is gearing up for the big day and it's going to be a wonderful celebration."

The day of festivities will begin with a wedding breakfast at Chapel Row where the Middletons live. According to the Daily Mail a "village extravaganza" will take place at Bucklebury Farm Park and will include live bands, a children's contest for the best crown and tiara, and ferret racing. Guests even get to enjoy a two-and-a-half feet high wedding cake!

Bucklebury residents have announced they will celebrate the royal wedding with Morris dancing, a hog roast, and duck racing.

In the evening, local pubs will host parties. Fireworks will be displayed at the Cottage Inn and the Bladebone pub plants to host a party with a "knights and maidens" theme. Meanwhile, John Haley, that pub owner who scored an invite to the nuptials, will be scurrying back to Bucklebury from Westminster Abbey to help with the "knees up" his establishment the Old Boot Inn is throwing in honor of William and Kate

"We've got two live bands, we've got a disco, we've got a barbeque, so I've got to come back for that and maybe share some of the stories of the day," Haley told ABC News' Nick Watt.
