Woman Bitten on Thigh by Shark at Florida Beach

— -- A 57-year-old woman was hospitalized after a shark bit her on the upper thigh in Vero Beach, Florida, on Sunday.

Mary Marcus was able to swim back to shore after she was attacked near the Costa d’Este Resort, Officer Anna Carden of the Vero Beach Police Department told ABC News.

She was taken to the Indian River Medical Center in stable condition, Carden said.
