Let Them Eat Cake!
March 9,2011— -- The crowning touch of any wedding day is the all-important cake. And according to Eat Out Magazine, chefs from the Welsh National Culinary Team have been called upon to bake a cake for Prince William and Kate Middleton.
"I wrote to St. James' Palace on behalf of the team in December to congratulate Prince William and Kate Middleton and offered to bake a wedding cake when the wedding was announced," said Graham Tinsley, the culinary team's manager. "We are delighted and honored that our offer has been accepted.
It is fitting that Welsh chefs have been appointed, seeing as the royal couple live in Anglesey in North Wales, where William is stationed with the Royal Air Force search and rescue team.
"We haven't yet finalized the decoration, but it will be traditionally Welsh and there's a good chance that harps, dragons and the national flag will be represented."
What flavor cake could it be?
"A fruit cake is more traditional as a wedding cake, although it is very heavy and rich," Steve Howard, creative director at the Cake Store in London told the Royal Diary.
