lululemon launches 3rd collection of elevated athleisure with British designer Saul Nash
British designer Saul Nash has partnered with athletic apparel retailer lululemon on a third collaboration of elevated athleisure featuring chic, easy jumpsuits, layer-able cardigans and jackets, and, of course, workout pieces perfect for the gym and beyond.
In keeping with the feeling of this time of year, Nash said he wanted to emphasize transition -- whether that means going from dark to light, warm to cold or gym to post-gym hangs -- to create pieces equipped for change.
"For this collection, we worked to reflect the shift from summer to fall, and how movement changes in the city, from staying visible at night to keeping comfortable indoors," Nash said in a press release. "The colors in the collection begin to reflect autumn: Still rich and vibrant, but in a way that showcases a seasonal shift."
At a recent showcase in New York, Nash walked "GMA" through several pieces from the collection, highlighting the way he takes inspiration from lululemon's logo and incorporates it into the clothing in a way that eschews in-your-face branding, opting instead to thoughtfully weave the logo's curve into the body of the clothes in an way that feels organic and true to the ethos of both lululemon and SLNSH.
Performance is as important as style throughout the collection, and details like reflective piping, mesh lining, and lightweight but warm Merino wool enhance the pieces' wearability for workouts and more.
For example: The Everlux Leggings are made from lululemon's fastest-drying material, and they also have piping to enhance and highlight the curves of the body so you'll want to wear them everywhere. Merino cardigans and half-zips are ultra-soft and naturally thermoregulating, and their print and colorways are designed to look as good during your warm-up as they do over a nice post-gym meal with friends.
