There were many fashion trends on the Met Gala carpet Monday night, including pearls, flowers, bows and more.
The most noticeable trend, however, was platform shoes.
Celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Paris Hilton and Anitta were spotted wearing the dramatic trend.
"Platform shoes are the ultimate statement piece. They are an accessory all on their own," Kim Appelt, celebrity stylist and author of "Style for Everybody," told "Good Morning America."
If you want to get the look at home, Appelt suggested pairing platform shoes with wide leg jeans or a minidress.
"Platform shoes are never going out of style, they have been around since the '70s," Appelt added. "They are quite literally the perfect way to elevate any outfit."
