Before jumping full speed ahead into a new year, model Christie Brinkley, 65, is dialing things back with inspiring photos from past decades.

In one of her latest posts on Instagram, she released a 1977 photo of herself posing on the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine in a purple bikini.

It's a swimsuit that she says "caused a stir" as she recalls all the swimsuit looks of that time were low slung on the hip. "This high leg cut made the hip a new erogenous zone."

Brinkley later reveals, "I remember I was worried that I looked fat."

The supermodel and businesswoman also expresses how glad she is that today's industry appreciates all shapes and sizes so everyone can just focus on being healthy. "Not cookie-cutter," Brinkley said.

"I look back at these and think that worry was such a waste of time," she continued. "If only the perspective we gain with age that alleviates the worries, could be passed on and absorbed by the younger generation."

Brinkley also adds that she does think shifting our focus to feeling great is a giant step in the right direction.
