'Grown-ish' star Yara Shahidi channels Aaliyah for sneak peek of season finale
"Grown-ish" actress Yara Shahid was seen channeling the late singer Aaliyah while sharing a sneak peek at the show's season finale.
On Monday, she posted a photo of herself on Instagram wearing a look reminiscent of Aaliyah.
She was dressed in a white crop top, navy blue boxer shorts, dual-colored pants along with a brown belt and Timberland boots. She also nailed Aaliyah's classic swoop bang hairstyle.
"Timbs suffered a temporary crease but no Timbs were permanently hurt in the making of this episode," she joked in her caption.
Fans were quick to send high praises for Shahidi's Aaliyah-inspired ensemble.
"So nostalgic," one person commented. Another chimed in, saying, "I'm shook."
Shahidi later released a short video teaser, noting in her caption that the costumes worn in the season finale are an ode to the '90s for her character Zoey's big 21st birthday bash.
Other costumes spotted from the teaser include Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Janet Jackson.
