When it comes to hair sculptures, Casey Powell's looks are a cut above the rest.

"Creating these hair sculptures has been a really great form of artistic release for me," Powell said. "I've been so happy with how well received they are because I know they're a little crazy and out there."

While most stylists create updos with a goal of not having a single bobby pin show, Powell pins with a purpose.

What makes her designs so unique is that she prominently places all of the pins on the hair for all to see. One of her creations used 320 bobby pins.

"Over the years I've definitely prided myself in being able to create styles that will last for 12-plus hours and not showing a single bobby pin," said Powell. "So it is a little ironic now that I've gotten a lot of attention for the hair sculptures that I'm making that are nothing but bobby pins."

The Jacksonville, Florida-based cosmetologist has been styling hair for 16 years. Powell has done everything from bridal hair to styling strands for New York Fashion Week.

"For as long as I can remember I've been playing with hair," Powell told "Good Morning America."

And updos are her speciality, she even refers to herself on social media as the "updoguru."

Powell credits her background in art and cosmetology as to why her hair sculptures are so captivating. And she'd like to pass off her skills to others.

"I really like teaching people because during those times I get to learn from others too," said Powell.
