Summersalt reveals inspiring body-positive swimwear campaign: 'Let's celebrate us'
Every body is a summer body, and Summersalt is showcasing exactly that in the brand's latest ad campaign.
The swimwear brand revealed its third Every Body is a Summersalt Body campaign, and it's a full-blown bevy of visuals that highlight women of all different sizes, ages, ethnicities, abilities and more.
The lineup of 30 women features everyone from Olympian and registered nurse Ilona Maher and model Hunter McGrady, to best-Selling novelist Candace Bushnell and WNBA All-Star Betnijah Laney.
"Let's declare this the summer of self-love, and dedicate the season to seeking both adventure and unwavering joy," the company captioned a video highlighting the empowering campaign.
The post went on to read, "We've filled this campaign with some of the most inspiring women we know. And just like us, they're moms, athletes, teachers, entrepreneurs, doctors and so much more. They're proudly sharing their love for themselves and their bodies with the hope that it will inspire us to do the same and make this the year we all proclaim: My Body Is a Summersalt Body."
The women included in the campaign range in age from 18 to 63, and they include a mashup of teachers, entrepreneurs, doctors and more.
Team USA three-time Paralympic snowboard medalist Amy Purdy, who is featured in this year's campaign, shared a post with a caption pointing out that her first thought was "yikes" when asked to be part of a swimsuit photo shoot after three years of not walking.
"But then, I was like, that is exactly WHY I needed to do this," Purdy continued. "To celebrate the strength & resilience of this body & all it has carried me through! If you look close you'll see a new scar on my hip to add to the collection."
In addition to the visual campaign, Summersalt took things further this year to also include the launch of "Love Letters to Your Body." Through this series, each woman featured wrote a love letter to their body -- including personal stories that will empower others to do the same.
Summersalt's latest swimwear launches include everything from stylish two-piece bikinis to patterned one-pieces in a wide variety of colors, shapes and prints.
