Evans has not appeared as Steve Rogers in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film since 2019's \"Avengers: Endgame,\" where he passed the title of Captain America to his close friend, Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie.

Other big names slated to star in \"Doomsday\" include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov, Winston Duke as M'Baku and Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr.

It was also announced earlier this year that \"The Fantastic Four: First Steps\" stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn would star in \"Avengers: Doomsday\" as their \"Fantastic Four\" characters Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm, The Thing and Johnny Storm, respectively.

\"Avengers: Doomsday\" will arrive in theaters on Dec. 18, 2026.
