Cordero, 41, went to the emergency room with what he believed was the flu in late March, but within days, was put on a ventilator and diagnosed with COVID-19. During his hospitalization, he sustained several lung infections and required a leg amputation. Kloots, 38, had kept her Instagram followers abreast of Cordero's prognosis for months, encouraging everyone to sing his song, \"Live Your Life,\" every afternoon.

Since his death, Kloots has been open about her grief and the heartbreak of raising their 1-year-old son, Elvis, on her own. On her wedding anniversary last week, she released a moving song featuring Cordero's vocals.

\"It was hard living up to my husbands vocals but I closed my eyes and pretended we were onstage singing this song together,\" she wrote in a post on the night she finished recording the song. \"I cried a lot, but [music producer and composer Rickey Minor] guided me through it every step of the way.\"

The fitness trainer previously announced that Cordero's album, a live recording of a one-man show he performed, and will be posthumously released his birthday, on Sept. 17.
