Hubbard's diagnosis comes two days before the 2020 Country Music Association Awards. Florida Georgia Line is nominated for vocal duo of the year and was scheduled to perform at the event. As of Monday, the band's name was no longer listed among the performers on the CMA Awards website.

As part of the guidelines for the CMA Awards this year, artists are required to get tested for COVID-19 prior to rehearsals. Hubbard is the second singer to pull out of the show due to COVID-19; Lee Brice's representative confirmed to ABC News that the singer also tested positive before being onsite for rehearsals. Brice, who had been slated to perform his duet \"I Hope You're Happy Now\" alongside Carly Pearce, will quarantine at home for now. Charles Kelley of Lady A will now perform the song in Brice's place.

The CMA Awards will take place without an audience, but the performers, presenters, nominated artists and their guests will be onsite and physically distanced when the show airs from Nashville's Music City Center on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
