\"I wrote A New Day's Lyric both to celebrate the new year & honor both the hurt & the humanity of the last one,\" she wrote. \"I'm always shy to quote my own poems, but I believe it in my bones when I say: Come, look up with kindness yet, for wherever we come together, we will forever overcome.\"
Gorman has had a whirlwind of a year. Following her reading of \"The Hill We Climb\" at Biden's inauguration, she read another poem she wrote called \"Chorus of the Captains,\" which was filmed for the Super Bowl's pregame ceremony and honored the front-line workers of the COVID-19 pandemic. She also signed with IMG models, the same modeling agency that represents Gigi and Bella Hadid.
Then, in April, she graced the cover of Vogue and co-chaired the 2021 Met Gala in September.
Gorman released her third book of the year, \"Call Us What We Carry,\" just this month.
