Backstreet Boys singer AJ McLean is sporting a new look -- and it's hard to tell if fans want it that way.
The "Dancing With the Stars" alum recently shocked his fans when he shared photos to social media of his clean-shaven face.

Fans in the comments section were not used seeing McLean without his beard and mustache. One wrote "TELL ME WHYY" in reference to the lyrics to the Backstreet Boys song "I Want it That Way."
Another fan replied with another lyric from the hit 1999 song, writing, "Ain’t nothing but a mistake!"

Other fans were supportive of the change, with many telling McLean they love him -- scruffy-faced or not.
