Actor Harry Shum Jr. stole the show on the season 35 premiere of "Dancing with the Stars," earning the night's highest score with his pro partner Jenna Johnson.
Shum and dazzled the judges and the audience Tuesday night with their disco-themed cha-cha, set to "Let’s Groove" by Earth, Wind & Fire.
The performance earned the duo a score of 21 out of 30.

Shum, 44, currently stars as Dr. Benson Blue Kwan on the long-running medical drama "Grey's Anatomy."
He started acting in the early 2000s and notably starred from 2009 to 2015 as Mike Chang on the hit teen musical series "Glee." More recently, Shum played Andy in the romantic comedy-drama "Voicemails for Isabelle."
Shum has also appeared in multiple hit movies. He portrayed Chad, a teppanyaki chef, in 2022's "Everything Everywhere All at Once" and starred as Charlie Wu in 2018's "Crazy Rich Asians."
Shum started his entertainment career as a dancer, performer and choreographer, according to his ABC bio.
He starred in and was one of the choreographers in 2010's "The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers," also known as "The LXD." He was also in the dance-focused movie "Step Up 2: The Streets" and its follow-up, "Step Up 3D."
In 2024, Shum coauthored a book, "Martee Dares to Dance," about a young boy who gains confidence through dance.
The son of Chinese immigrant parents and a native of Costa Rica, Shum was raised in California and currently lives with his family in Los Angeles.
He is married to actress and dancer Shelby Rabara and the couple are parents to a daughter named Xia.
Shum's family members were in the "Dancing with the Stars" audience on premiere night to watch him perform.
"This was the first time [my daughter] actually has seen me dance," Shum told ABC News' "On The Red Carpet" afterward. "And you know what she told me? She said, 'Wow, Dad, This is actually the first time you didn't dance so hard.' Because hip-hop is like, hard. So she's like, 'You danced soft and I liked it.'"
"Dancing with the Stars" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+ following the two-night premiere. Episodes stream the next day on Hulu.
