Janet Jackson is joining a long list of veteran performers who have landed their own Las Vegas residencies.
The icon's show "Metamorphosis" will kick off May 17 at Park Theater at Park MGM resort in Sin City.
The show is described as journey through "the immensely private life" of Janet Jackson, as she shares her "transformation from a young girl with self-esteem issues to global icon."
Through the show, she'll share her path to empowerment, motherhood and activism, and, "encourage audiences to find their own light within themselves."
(MORE: Janet Jackson delivers moving gender equality speech at EMAs)Metamorphosis will feature all of Jackson’s hits, deep cuts, "explosive dance numbers," "electrifying visuals" and more -- as well as a special 30-year anniversary celebration of her global smash album "Rhythm Nation," according to a statement from Live Nation.
Pre-sales for members of Jackson's fan club begin Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. PST; there are a variety of other pre-sales for Citi card members, M Life loyalty members, and Ticketmaster and Live Nation customers.
Everyone else can start buying tickets on March 2 at 10 a.m. PST via Ticketmaster.
The singer's first batch of performance dates includes shows in May, July and August; notably, she's not performing in June, the month which marks the 10th anniversary of the death of her brother, Michael Jackson.
