Mindy Kaling graces the cover of Vogue India this December, but she revealed that the shoot for it almost didn't happen.

In a candid post Wednesday, the actress shared a photo of the magazine cover along with the reason why she almost said no to the opportunity -- which would mark her first cover on any of Vogue's prestigious magazines.

"I was so excited to be asked to be the cover of @vogueindia’s December issue but seriously nervous because I would have to shoot it six weeks after giving birth to my son Spencer," she admitted in the caption of her post.

"I was not feeling body confident, and even considered saying no," she continued.

However, Kaling did ultimately say yes, thanks to the support Vogue gave her, and she was left with a special keepsake.

"But @katiegreenthal and Vogue surrounded me with talented and wonderful people, and now I’m thrilled I have these photos as a memento of this very specific time in my life. 'Post partum pandemic fabulous' is what I like to call it," she wrote. "Thank you @vogueindia, I love you! More photos to come. Enjoy!"

Back in October, Kaling, who is typically private about her personal life, revealed that she welcomed a baby boy, Spencer, in September.

The news came as a shock to many who didn't even know that the 41-year-old actress was pregnant.

"This is news to a lot of people. It's true," she said at the time.

In addition to Spencer, Kaling also has a 2-year-old daughter, Katherine. The actress has not publicly revealed her daughter or son's father.
