NYU giving Taylor Swift an honorary doctorate, singer to speak at 2022 graduation

That's Dr. Taylor Swift to you, because New York University is awarding her an honorary doctorate.

The "All Too Well" singer will pick up her diploma, a Doctor of Fine Arts, honoris causa, when she addresses the university's class of 2022 on May 18 at Yankee Stadium, the university said via a press release Monday.

Swift will speak at the "traditional" ceremony at 11 a.m. for the current graduates, while a "combined ceremony" at 6 p.m. will be held for the classes of 2020 and 2021 "whose celebrations were postponed due to pandemic-related restrictions."

NYU is the same university that offered a class on Swift, in which students could study her as a music entrepreneur, the various pop and country songwriters that helped shape her music and more.

Swift recently unveiled a new line of merchandise aimed directly at college grads with her "I'm Feeling '22" graduation collection. Items include stickers to decorate graduation caps, tote bags, balloons, cake toppers, sweaters and supplies perfect for graduation parties.
