Taylor Swift makes superfan's dreams come true by paying her student loan debt

WATCH: Taylor Swift pays off superfan's student loan debt

Imagine waking up and finding out Taylor Swift helped pay your student loans. That just happened to one Taylor superfan.

The fan, Ayesha Khurram, 20, a student from Toronto currently in her second year at University of Waterloo, recently posted on Tumblr about her struggles to pay her tuition and rent.

She shared that her parents work minimum wage jobs and that her mother suffers from chronic kidney disease, so even with their help, she still fell short of being able to pay her bills.

"I was just really stressed out," the Accounting and Financial Management student told "Good Morning America" about her initial posts. "You know how you vent online? And you don't imagine Taylor Swift is going to see it -- it just doesn't happen."

Well, Swift, who's extremely active on Tumblr, apparently saw the post, which Khurram had added her PayPal information to, and quietly deposited the necessary funds, over $4,800 (US), into her account, via her Taylor Nation LLC company.

"I honestly had no idea that she was going to see it," Khurram said. "I was just shook."

Swift also added an encouraging note to her gift: "Ayesha, get your learn on girl. I love you! Taylor."

The Swiftie posted screenshots of the donation message to her Instagram and Tumblr, along with the caption, "i posted about struggling with paying for tuition. two hours later, i get this in my email. i have no words and i can’t stop crying. i don’t have words i don’t have words i don’t have words i can’t stop crying."

Khurram also uploaded a breathless thank-you video, which Swift's official Tumblr liked.

The university student said she's been a longtime Taylor fan and actively posts about her love for the star online.

She's even met Swift before -- at her Toronto Reputation stadium tour stop in 2018.

"Her team reached out to me and they were like 'She wants to meet you,'" Khurram shared. "She knew I had sisters and they called me over ... it was just insane."

"She's amazing, incredible ... I can't even believe she remembered me," she added. "She is honestly just as genuine and just as kind as she seems."

The "You Need to Calm Down" singer has garnered a reputation for helping fans that are down on their luck. Just last October, Swift donated over $15,000 to a fan whose mother was in a coma.

Taylor Swift accepted the first-ever Icon Award Sunday night at the Teen Choice Awards. Her new album, Lover, drops Aug. 23 -- the title track will be released Friday.

"Good Morning America" has reached out to Swift and will update if we hear back.
