Baby in a cup of 'hot cocoa' is the sweetest thing you'll see this Christmas

WATCH: This baby in a cup of hot cocoa is keeping things sweet on Christmas

If there's anything sweeter than a cup of hot cocoa on a cold winter's day, surely it's a baby in a cup of "hot cocoa."

That sweetness -- a photo shoot and video of 1-year-old Scarlett Wesling -- has been shared on Facebook more than 300,000 times. The photos and the video were taken by Ashley Fitz of Ashley Mae Photography.

"I saw it [the theme[ last Christmas on Pinterest, and absolutely fell in love with the idea. I spent the last year planning mine," Fitz told "Good Morning America."

For Jessica Wesling, Scarlett's mom, her baby being seen all over the world was a "shock."

"I thought it was incredibly cute, but hadn’t planned on using it since we had already done Christmas minis this year," the Rushville, Indiana, mom said. "She [Fitz] was wanting to start promoting the cocoa minis and we happened to be in her studio for Scarlett’s one year pictures that day. We put her in the cup just hoping to get a few good pictures for Ashley to advertise her new set up."

That gesture went a long way: After her photos went viral, Fitz had families driving from as far as 14 hours away to have similar photos taken.

Seeing Scarlett "bobbing for marshmallows" was a highlight of the video for Wesling. "She was still hesitant to eat solid foods at the time, so I definitely didn’t expect it."

That cuteness, Fitz said, is what "brought joy to everyone. The world needed some happiness this year. This year has been hard, and trying to say the least with quarantine, and losing jobs ... the list goes on and on."
