Tip of the Day: Protect Your Home from Pests

Now that spring has sprung, many families need advice about how to protect their homes from pests.

One way to keep bugs and small animals out of your house is to install wire mesh in your attic and crawl spaces. 1/4 inch wire mesh works best.

There are many other do-it-yourself remedies for pests. For example, mint is a tried and true natural repellent to mice and other rodents.You can saturate a rag with peppermint oil and stuff it into whatever opening the mice are crawling through. It can also be sprayed around door frames. Mint leafs planted around doors can deter pests from ever entering the house.
