An 8-year-old turned a hospital hallway into his personal runway, dancing and even doing a cartwheel down a corridor before ringing a bell to celebrate beating leukemia.

Joryal Hudson captured her eldest son Royce's joyous moves at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, in a March 20 video she shared with Storyful.

Hudson told ABC News Royce was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), type B in July 2025 and underwent treatment in the hospital, which required him to miss his younger sister's 3rd birthday.

Last month, Royce's doctor said he was in remission and could be discharged.

"That day, he was extremely happy, because he was able to go home and be with the rest of his siblings," Hudson said of Royce's milestone day. "He was able to see his brother throughout his hospital stay, but not his younger sister, so he was very happy to be home with her."

According to the National Cancer Institute, ALL is a type of blood and bone marrow cancer and is one of the most common types of childhood cancer, accounting for about 25% of all childhood cancer cases in the U.S.

Treatments for this type of cancer vary but may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, a stem cell transplant, immunotherapy, medications or a combination of therapies.

Hudson said Royce is back home now, getting homeschooled before he can return to school in-person and making TikTok videos and gaming again.

She said she urges other parents and caregivers to listen to their kids if they say something feels off.
