The 21-year-old daughter of late "Crocodile Hunter" star Steve Irwin shared a photo from her nuptials and some information about the ceremony.
"There are no words to describe the amount of love and light in my heart right now," she described in the caption of her Instagram post. "We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding."
"We celebrated life and revelled in every beautiful moment we shared together in our Australia Zoo gardens," she wrote. "Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory. We shared tears and smiles and love."
She also addressed the timing of the wedding amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Their marriage took place hours before a new restriction in Australia went into effect, which limits weddings to just five people, including the couple, the witnesses and the celebrant.
"This was a very difficult decision but important to keep everyone safe," she wrote. "We wish all of our friends and family could have been there with us, however it’s lovely that we will be able to share photos and videos."
She said that amid the global health crisis, the couple is, "encouraging the world to hold onto hope and love, which will carry us forward during this profound time in history."
Irwin also described that her family is "fortunate" because they all live at the Australia Zoo, so they could be together to celebrate the couple's special day. She asked her followers to remember to, "stay safe, social distance and remember LOVE WINS!"
"The Australia Zoo family are thrilled for Bindi and Chandler, we wish them a long and happy future together as husband and wife," the zoo said in a statement. "They had a beautiful small, private ceremony together in the gardens of Australia Zoo."
"At this stage, we are unable to share additional details of the special day, but keep an eye on Bindi and Chandler’s social media channels for updates," the statement continued. "We are in the process of working on a very special project that will ensure Bindi and Chandler’s wedding is shared with everyone."
Powell also shared a post to celebrate their wedding, captioning his photo, "As we embark on this new life chapter I hope that we can share some love in the world, especially during this challenging time."
